I wasn’t disappointed when I met the charming Chris and Emily Swanson, learned about their business and the relocation of the company, and then I ate lunch. There wasn’t anything not to like about the friendly people and the delicious food I sampled. I now understand why everyone is raving about what this young Beaumont couple has created.

Finch Hutton brings French-American style bistro to Nederland

Driving to 1147 Boston Ave. in Nederland provided a surprise like no other encountered on recent assignments. Arriving at my destination, a new restaurant, Finch Hutton, I had no idea what to expect. A gracious welcome to our party by an attentive staff impressed me right off the bat, but when I saw the menu offered at this French-American bistro, shock is a mild word to describe my feelings.

When personable Shannon Wilson went to work for The West Bar and Grill a decade and a half ago, he had no idea that he would one day own the place or that he would make such good lifetime friends from among the customers he came to know well.
