Barefoot in the Park

Barefoot in the Park

Montana Repertory Theatre celebrates its 50th anniversary season with the play that put Neil Simon on the map over 50 years ago. Through comedy, Simon explores love, relationship, marriage and family — the pangs of loss and the joy of reunion.

Barefoot in the Park is headed to the Lutcher Theater in one performance on Friday, March 3, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25-$37 and can be purchased online at lutcher.com.

Produced by Montana Repertory Theatre, Barefoot in the Park sees Corie and Paul Bratter as a newlywed couple. For their first home, they live in an apartment on the top floor of a brownstone in New York City.

During the course of four days, the couple learns to live together while facing the usual daily ups-and-downs. Corrie wants Paul, a conservative young attorney, to become more easygoing — for example, to run “barefoot in the park.” But he has other ideas like keeping his emotions in check while focusing on his budding career rather than his marriage. Sparks fly as Corie and Paul’s relationship is tested. Can this nascent marriage be saved?

The Lutcher Theater is at 707 Main in Orange. For more information, call (409) 886-5535.
