The Blues Brothers

The Blues Brothers

The Lutcher Theater in Orange will end its season with a little soul as the Original Tribute To The Blues Brothers enters the building for the first time ever on Wednesday, March 21, at 7:30 p.m. Great balcony seats are still available beginning at $20. Tickets can be purchased online at or at the box office.

“Of course this is based on the movie, but it’s a concert,” said Lynae Sanford of the Lutcher Theater. “It features the original members from the West End run of the show from London. It’s going to be an amazing show and we hope this will be our fifth sellout of the season.”

Founded by comedy actors Dan Aykroyd and the late John Belushi for a comedy sketch in 1978 during Saturday Night Live, Belushi became “Joliet” Jake Blues and Aykroyd portrayed his brother Elwood. They later created a band and recorded an album and the movie was made in 1980 — The Blues Brothers. In case you may have forgotten or never have seen the movie, the story begins as Jake is released from prison and hopes to make good with his brother Elwood and the two take a “mission from God” to help save the orphanage the two were raised in. The two round up the band and put on a concert, but run into all sorts of trouble while being chased by the police.

Though many tributes have tried to immolate the pair, most have succumbed except for The Original Tribute to the Blues Brothers, which has sold out all over Europe. This all-new tribute brings fans those favorite and classic moments of The Blues Brothers, but with a new set, new twists, new moves and new songs. The boys are joined by one of Europe’s finest seven-piece bands and the sassy Bluettes — three amazing ladies with phenomenal voices.

Expect to hear all the favorites including “Everybody Needs Somebody to Love,” “Shake A Tail Feather,” “Sweet Home Chicago,” “ Think,” “Respect,” “Gimme Some Lovin’,” “Theme from Rawhide,” “Jailhouse Rock” and many more.

So dust off your pork pie hat, dig out your shades and don those dancing shoes and prepare to party like never before. Join the Blues Brothers for a night of the best music, moves, thrills and spills you’re likely to see this side of Chicago. Just don’t tell the police.
