Classic Movie Night continues on Friday, Feb. 3, with the 2002 musical criminal comedy Chicago at the historic Jefferson Theatre in downtown Beaumont. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the movie begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5. Beer, wine and other concessions will be available. Directed by Rob Marshall, the movie is based on the 1975 musical by the same name and stars Catherine Zeta-Jones, Renee Zellweger and Richard Gere. It’s scandal and corruption during the Jazz Age in Chicago as two women, a housewife and a vaudevillian, are charged with murder and fight for fame to get out of jail. Chicago won Best Picture at the Academy Awards in 2003, becoming the first musical to do so since Oliver! in 1968. The movie is 1 hour and 53 minutes and Rated PG-13.
