69th annual Orange Christmas Parade

The Kiwanis Club of Orange presents the 69th annual Orange Christmas Parade themed for 2017 — A Very Merry Hollywood Christmas — on Friday, Dec. 1 beginning at 6:15 p.m. This year’s parade will feature a new route starting at the intersection of Front and Eighth streets, then it turns right on 10th Street, right on Green Avenue, right on First Street and concluding at the corner of Front and Eighth. The lighted parade, which is held in memory of the late Ben Culpepper Jr., will include floats, bands and dance teams from area schools, businesses and organizations with music, costumes and lighted displays. This year’s grand marshal is Carl Svebek, professional angler and Bassmaster champion. When the parade ends, paradegoers are invited to City Hall for the annual lighting of the Christmas tree.

The Nederland Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Lighted Christmas Parade on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m.

With the Port Neches-Groves football team still in the playoffs, the Groves Chamber Lighted Christmas Parade has been canceled. The parade was originally scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 2.
