I Dream Too Much

I Dream Too Much

In collaboration with the Beaumont Public Library System, Beaumont native Katie Cokinos will premiere her award-winning film "I Dream Too Much" at the historic Jefferson Theatre on Saturday, June 11, at 7:30 p.m. Concessions, including beer and wine, will be for sale.

Written and directed by Cokinos, I Dream Too Much is a coming of age story about a high-spirited young girl, Dora, who finds herself back at home after college and feeling inwardly, “plain and small.”  While her mother dreams of Dora going to law school, Dora dreams hopelessly of jetting to Brazil with her best friend.  In order to escape her overbearing Mom, Dora volunteers to care for her formidable great aunt, Vera, who has broken her foot. In a quiet old estate in a rural village, Dora makes discoveries about her family’s past and takes a meaningful step toward her own future.

Cokinos will be at the Jefferson Theatre for the premiere and will conduct a Question and Answer session after the film. Tickets are $5 and available at the Beaumont Civic Center box office and at the Jefferson Theatre, night of show.

All proceeds benefit the Beaumont Public Library System.
