Liquid Society at L'auberge

Liquid Society at L'auberge

Imagine laying out by the pool, drinking a cool adult beverage while listening to live music. Sound too good to be true?

Well, summer is back, and with it comes the return of the iconic poolside concert series Liquid Society Party by the Pool at L’auberge Casino Resort Lake Charles beginning Thursday, June 23, for ages 21 years and older. With two resort swimming pools, a lazy river, and a private cabana courtyard, nothing gets you close to Vegas like L’auberge.

Every Thursday from June 23 – July 28, national and regional music acts will take the outdoor stage with gates opening at 7 p.m. Each show starts at 8:30 p.m.

Bring your bathing suits, or not, and get ready to have the most summer fun an adult can have while jamming out with a few thousand people.

Now in its 11th year, the series starts Thursday, June 23, with the “Battle of the Bands” as four regional acts compete for a future paid gig at L’auberge.

California rock act Third Eye Blind will take the stage on Thursday, June 30. With more than 12 million records sold, Third Eye Blind released its self-titled debut in 1997, which sold more than 6 million copies and contained several giant radio hits including “Semi-Charmed Life,” “Graduate,” “How’s It Going to Be” and “Jumper.” Other hits are “Anything,” “Never Let You Go” and “Everything is Easy.” 3EB is touring in support of their latest effort, Dopamine.

Country music star Chris Young will perform Thursday, July 7. Young, 30, won the 2006 Nashville Star singing competition on the USA Network and has gone on to record five albums and win several CMT and American Country Awards.

Popular song titles are “Drinkin’ Me Lonely,” “I Can Take It from There,” “Aw Naw,” “Lonely Eyes,” “I’m Comin’ Over” along with five No. 1 hits in “Voices,” “Tomorrow,” “You,” “The Man I Want to Be” and “Gettin’ You Home.”

Everyone’s favorite Cajun, Wayne Toups, and his accordion will perform Thursday, July 14. Toups, 57, of Crowley, Louisiana, first picked up the accordion at the age of 13 and has since become a Zydeco legend, releasing more than a dozen albums and winning a Grammy Award in 2013. Toups has had many hits, but not many were bigger than “Take My Hand,” which was featured in several movies and soundtracks.

The Fray, who made Billboard’s “Top 100 Artists of the Decade,” will play Liquid Society on Thursday, July 21. From Colorado, the foursome released its first of four albums in 2005 and went on to win three Billboard awards while picking up four Grammy nominations.

All 12 singles released to radio made the alternative rock charts such as “Love Don’t Die,” “Syndicate,” “Never Say Never,” “All at Once,” “Look After You” and two No. 1 chart toppers in “Over My Head (Cable Car)” and “How to Save a Life.”

The final date of the 2016 season of Liquid Society will be Thursday, July 28. No musical act has been announced yet, but L’auberge promises it will be well worth the wait.

And we believe them.
