Summer Jam features Curse & The Cure CD release

It’s a rock show you don’t want to miss as Podunk headlines Summer Jam on Saturday, July 18, at The Gig on Crockett Street in downtown Beaumont. Doors open at 8 p.m. for ages 18 years and older. Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door.

Podunk, which formed in 1992, still has original members Jason Touchette (lead vocals, guitar) and bassist Paul Soroski, alongside members Duncan Isenhower on guitar and Brian Hays on drums. Longtime fans will remember their hits from the 1996 album Murlin’s Dock such as “Swan Dive,” “Blanket” and “The Lemonade Stand” as well as their rendintion of the Captain & Tennille classic, "Love Will Keep Us Together." 

Performing at 10:30 p.m. will be will be Curse & The Cure, featuring Touchette along with Norma Hopson, who will be performing tracks off their first full-length album, II. If you haven't seen them already, we know you have heard about this Southeast Texas duo and they are a must-see.

Recorded in March at Rock Army Records in Austin, the track listing 1 – “Coming Home,” 2 – “The Chase,” 3 – “Record Collection,” 4 – “Miracle,” 5 – “Loving You,” 6 – “I’m Alive,” and 7 – “Sing Me a Song.” Touchette will also be celebrating his birthday and the first 10 fans through the door will receive a free gift from Cure & The Cure.

Opening Summer Jam will be Peace & The Chaos (9 p.m.) along with Knuckle Deep (10:15 p.m.)
