This animated feature offers an answer to pet owners who wonder what their pets do all day while they’re away. You could solve that with a nanny cam, but it wouldn’t be nearly as much fun as seeing this. From the team that created “Despicable Me,” this animated film hits the mark on almost every level.

When Lenny Caballero was named City of Beaumont event facility coordinator in June of 2013, he had a vision.

“Some of my goals when I became director of event facilities was to hire the best staff in the world, bring quality entertainment at affordable prices and bring people to downtown Beaumont,” he said.

Just this year, Caballero and staff has hosted concerts such as Pat Benatar, the Beach Boys and Jerry Lee Lewis.

A great time is to be had by all Friday, July 8, when the Love & Laughter Comedy Show Concert takes place at the Julie Rogers Theatre, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $20-$30 and can be purchased online at ticketmaster.com or the Beaumont Civic Center box office. The “love” will come through a performance by four-time Grammy nominated R&B singer Tank.

Golden Nugget in Lake Charles welcomes impressionist, singer and entertainer Gordie Brown for a six-show stint from Saturday, July 8, – Wednesday, July 14. The Saturday show opens at 8 p.m., and the remaining shows will start at 7 p.m. Tickets for this 21-and-older show are $10-$15 and can be purchased online at ticketmaster.com or at the venue. Brown has consistently received rave reviews by both critics and audiences alike, and has been recognized as “Entertainer of the Year,” “Best Comedian” and “Best Show” in Nevada.

The Greatest Show on Earth will take over NRG Stadium, the home of the NFL’s Houston Texans, for a 14-day, 27-show event as Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey presents “Circus Xtreme” from Thursday, July 14, – Sunday, July 31.

Multiple Country music award winner Chris Young will perform at Liquid Society Party by the Pool at L’Auberge Casino Resort in Lake Charles on Thursday, July 7, with gates opening at 7 p.m. Tickets for the 21-and-older show are $35. Young, 31, is touring in support of his fifth release on RCA Nashville, I’m Comin’ Over. The title track became Young’s sixth No. 1 single.
