The cast and creative team are ready for the summer chills production of Alfred Hitchcock’s The 39 Steps at the Alley Theatre, located at 615 Texas Ave. in downtown Houston.

Based on the classic film by Alfred Hitchcock, The 39 Steps is adapted by Patrick Barlow, directed by Mark Shanahan, and runs July 21 – Aug. 20 in the Hubbard Theatre. Tickets start at $26 and are available now at alleytheatre.org.

Experience the magic of film with a live orchestra for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone with the Houston Symphony at Jones Hall in the downtown Houston theatre district at 615 Louisiana St. The Harry Potter film series is one of those once-in-a-lifetime cultural phenomena that continues to delight millions of fans around the world. This concert will feature the Houston Symphony performing every note from the 2001 film Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, which went on to become one of the highest grossing movies of all time with $974.8 million sold at the box office.

The city of Beaumont is hosting its highly anticipated third annual Beaumont Craft Beer Fest on Saturday, Sept. 23, at the downtown Event Centre from 2-6 p.m. Presented by the city, Giglio Distributing, and 2-Row/Del Papa Distributing, the festival will showcase Texas and national craft breweries and is anticipated to sell-out quickly. Advance tickets go on sale Tuesday, Aug. 1, at 10 a.m. at the Civic Center box office and online at Ticketmaster.com. General tickets are $20, which includes event entry, a souvenir cup and a tasting card.

Premier Productions presents the Big Church Night Out Tour at Ford Arena featuring a headlining concert by Grammy nominated group Newsboys on Sept. 30. Each night will include a time of worship, ministry and unity along with performances from Sidewalk Prophets, 7eventh Time Down, Derek Minor, Blanca, Adam Agee from Audio Adrenaline, illusionist Brock Gill, worship leader Jamison Strain, and Jeremy Willet.

From Australia, Newsboys have been performing since 1985; the group currently features the vocals of Michael Tait, formerly of the Grammy winning band DC Talk.

“Notorious” Shane Taylor

Hurricane Pro Wrestling will slam into the Beaumont Civic Center on Saturday, July 15, for a show titled “Riot” featuring Ring of Honor star “Notorious” Shane Taylor. Taylor, from Cleveland, Ohio, stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 350 pounds. He officially signed with ROH late last year and had a big feud with War Machine. Taylor also recently competed on ROH’s pay-per-view “Best in the World” on June 23 when he teamed with Rhett Titus against Kenny King and Caprice Coleman and the Motor City Machine Guns.
