So what exactly is the source code? As one character relates, “it would take weeks to explain,” and time is something in short supply in this movie. On a morning commuter train traveling into Chicago, Capt. Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal) jolts up from a little snooze to find he doesn’t know where he is. His seatmate, Christina (Michelle Monaghan), keeps calling him Sean and his reflection in the train’s window reveals a different face.

“There’s no place like home” … A fundraiser for the Anayat House proved to be a sensational success under the reins of Robin Gerhardt and her tireless committee, who donned ruby slippers to greet guests arriving in costumes from the classic movie “The Wizard of Oz.” The Phelan Mansion made for a perfect venue for this fantastic event. Mid-Life Crisis with the vocals of Jennifer Parker (fab when she sang Barbara Lynn’s song “You Lose A Good Thing”) was followed by the terrific sounds of Three Car Garage.

The great thing about April in Texas is that this is big bass time, as in double-digit bass, and there is no shortage of lakes that have and still can produce monster class largemouths when they are on the beds and spawning like right now.

Hailing from Vancouver, British Columbia, the three-some, which includes Tyler Connolly (vocals/guitar), David Brenner (guitar) and Dean Beck (bass) have just put the finishing touches on their upcoming untitled fourth album on Roadrunner Records.

The band saw success with their first two records, Theory of a Deadman and Gasoline, but it was their third album in 2008 that got the Theory train rolling — Scars & Souvenirs.

One of the most highly anticipated events of the year is the Christus Health Foundation Southeast Texas Annual Benefit Gala—in addition to raising much needed funds for the renovations of the local Christus hospitals, the black tie event is very simply one heck of a party.  Past entertainers who have appeared at the local event include Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, Michael Bolton, Ray Charles, Lionel Richie and las

Larry Judice has been doing Cajun cuisine a long time.  Nearly 33 years ago, the Texan-born butcher planted his Louisiana roots in Groves when he purchased his father’s Cajun grocery store.  Today, Larry’s French Market and Cajun Restaurant, the “Cajun honky tonk” of Southeast Texas, is known as the site where it all began.

WASHINGTON — I settled my ample figure into a dark leather booth in the Caucus Room steakhouse and confronted a pressing question: W.W.H.E?

What Would Haley Eat?

Haley Barbour, the Mississippi governor and prospective Republican presidential candidate, was a founder and owner of this sanctum sanctorum of the Washington powerful. Waiters told me he favored the chopped salad — off menu, natch — and another informant indicated he preferred light liquors.
