It’s that “most wonderful time of the year” again, and you may be searching for just the right gift for yourself or the gardeners in your life. The choices are so vast these days with Christmas catalogs galore and advertisements on all the websites. Right here in our own backyard, we have some unique places to shop for outdoor surprises and special treats for gardeners.

One landmark for gifts is Fred Miller on Nederland Avenue. It has been a fixture in Southeast Texas since 1919! Now managed by the third generation, Chris Miller, you will find unique options for not only the gardeners in your life but also the new babies and collectors. In that same area is Snoopers Paradise in Groves for not only antiques but also unique furniture for indoors and out.

In Beaumont, you can find live plants in the greenhouse at Ellis Pottery on Calder. The Ellis family traces its history of working with plants to the late 1800s, when they operated a pottery manufacturing company in Texas. Current-generation family members operate their five Beaumont and Louisiana locations and keep them chock full of options for gardening and decorating choices.

We are also lucky to have Burns Antik Haus in our area. They personally travel to Europe once or twice a year to choose totally unique pieces from France, Italy and other overseas locations. McManus Fine Light & Interiors on 11th Street has indoor and outdoor gifts for everyone on your list; Jeff’s “finds” are fabulous and one of a kind.

Other fun venues with gifts for the gardener in your life are Monica’s Mark, Bando’s, Al Cook Nursery, Johnson Wholesale Florist, Sunshine Plant Nursery and Beaumont Greenery. Happy gift hunting!
