9th annual Jazz+Blues Fest performance times
Downtown Beaumont will be filled with great sounds on Saturday, June 7 as the ninth annual Kinsel Lincoln Jazz+Blues Fest will feature more than a dozen musical acts outside at the beautiful Event Centre. Gates will open at 3 p.m., plus tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the Beaumont Civic Center box office or Ticketmaster outlets. The all ages event will also feature food and drink vendors and patrons are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs.
Headlining this year’s event is Briefcase Blues, which is the first ever tribute band dedicated to the characters of ‘Joliet Jake’ and ‘Elwood Blues’ of the Blues Brothers.
From Dallas, Briefcase Blues is more than just your average tribute band. J. Leggio as Jake and Lee Schwing as Elwood first performed in 1983 and have spent the last 28 years mastering the craft and Briefcase Blues precedes any other show. Backed by a four-piece rhythm section and three-four-piece horn section, it’s authentic, seasoned, soul rock-n-roll, rhythm & blues that was originally created for the stage by Saturday Night Live comedians Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi.
