Jake Worthington live at Charlie's Bar & Grill Winnie Jan 26

Jake Worthington

Jake Worthington, runner-up of Season 6 of NBC’s hit singing competition The Voice, returns to Southeast Texas and this time will perform at Charlie’s Bar & Grill in Winnie on Friday, Jan. 26, at 9 p.m. Worthington, from La Porte, opened up a lot of eyes in 2014 when country singer Blake Shelton picked Jake to be on his team during that season of The Voice. He covered songs like “Right Here Waiting” by Richard Marx, “Don’t Close Your Eyes” by the late Keith Whitley, and “A Country Boy Can Survive” by Hank Williams Jr., which made him an easy choice for the voting audience. Worthington’s version of “Heaven,” originally performed by Bryan Adams, went to No. 3 on Billboard Country Top Digital songs. Local classic country band Honky Tonk Special will open the show. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Charlie’s is at 210 TX-73 in Winnie. For more information, call (409) 296-1096.
