“The Killer” Jerry Lee Lewis at the ripe age of 81 will perform inside the Grand Event Center at Golden Nugget in Lake Charles on Friday, Jan 6, at 8:30 p.m. Tickets for this 21-and-older show are $40-$70 and can be purchased online at ticketmaster.com or at the venue. Known as “rock ‘n’ roll’s first great wild man,” Lee is a music pioneer who signed with the great Sun Records in 1955 and released hits such as “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin On,” “Crazy Arms,” “Great Balls of Fire,” “Breathless” and “High School Confidential.” His life was chronicled in the 1989 movie Great Balls of Fire starring Dennis Quad as Lewis, and he is the last surviving member of Sun Records’ Million Dollar Quartet “Class of ’55” that also included Elvis, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison and Carl Perkins.
