K. Michelle to headline R&B show at Civic Center

It’s a ‘Mother’s Day Love Fest’ featuring performances by K. Michelle along with special guests Tank and K-Ci & JoJo on Friday, May 9 at the Beaumont Civic Center beginning at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $70, $65, $55, $50, $45, $35, $25, $20 and can be purchased at the Civic Center box office or Ticketmaster outlets including ticketmaster.com or (800) 745-3000.

K. Michelle is touring in support of the album Rebellious Soul, which features the radio singles “V.S.O.P.” and “Can’t Raise a Man.” Earlier this year, the 30-year-old Memphis native had the opening slot on Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines Tour.” After appearing on VH1’s reality show Love & Hip Hop, she announced she will star in a spinoff to the series later this year. Tank has released six album, four of which were No. 1 on the Billboard R&B charts, has seen several Top 10 hits like “Please Don’t Go,” “Emergency,” “Next Breath” and “You’re My Star.”

Brothers K-Ci & JoJo were the founding members of the group Jodeci and were nominated for three Grammy Awards. Top songs are “All My Life,” “Crazy” and “If You Think You’re Lonely Now.”
