Mickey Gilley plays Honky Tonk Texas

At the age of 82, country music legend Mickey Gilley will perform at Honky Tonk Texas in Silsbee on Saturday, April 21, with doors opening at 7 p.m. From Mississippi, Gilley has recorded 39 Top 10 hits including 17 No. 1 songs such as “Room Full of Roses,” “Don’t the Girls All Get Prettier at Closing Time,” “Bring It on Home to Me,” “Here Comes the Hurt Again,” “Stand By Me,” “Talk to Me” and “Fool for Your Love.” Gilley partnered with Sherwood Cryer in the ’70s to open the world famous dance club Gilley’s, which spawned the 1980 film Urban Cowboy.
