OurTyme Music Festival

When someone mentions the history of music in Southeast Texas, specifically Beaumont, the first thing that usually comes to mind is the Beaumont Boys, which include Mark Chesnutt, Clay Walker and Tracy Byrd. But it’s much more than just those three talented players, and local concert promoter Johnae Whitaker has put together a gem of a gig to showcase the local talent in Southeast Texas called the OurTyme Music Festival on Saturday, June 24, at the Red Room (near Dixie Dance Hall) on Crockett Street in downtown Beaumont.

“OurTyme Music Festival is a singer, songwriter collective featuring very talented musicians from Southeast Texas,” said Whitaker. “All the images on poster were taken in Beaumont of the local musicians, or the ones passing through which are now our late greats. We have always had a massive amount of talent from this area, or pass through, which was my inspiration for the poster. We still have a ton of talent here, so come check it out.”

Doors will open at 3 p.m. Expect a dozen performances by musicians including Silas Feemster, Johnny Jailbird, Jake A. Hooker, Cody Schaeffer, Pug Johnson and many more.

Tickets are $5 and are available at the door.
