Hurricane Pro Wrestling set to crown 1st women's champion

Chelsea Green

Hurricane Pro Wrestling is going all out to crown their first ever women’s champion at its next show at the Beaumont Civic Center this Saturday, June 16. A star-studded lineup already invited to compete for the coveted new title in a Gauntlet match just got bigger as former Impact Wrestling women’s champion Chelsea Green intends to add the HPW Women’s Championship belt to her already impressive trophy case.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the first match is slated for 7 p.m. Tickets are $10, with Family 4 Packs going for $30 and available online by clicking www.hurricanepro.info. A limited number of VIP tickets will be sold for $25, which includes early entry into the event at 5 p.m. plus autograph meet and greet with the ladies of the title match including Green, Miranda Alize, Simply Luscious, Hyan and Phoebe as well as a free commemorative Hurricane Pro T-shirt.

Chelsea Green

Green, from Canada, is one of the favorites to win the women’s gauntlet match. She began wrestling in 2014 and has since wrestled all over the world. Green appeared on WWE’s “Raw” a year later and was a contestant on WWE’s Tough Enough and finished fourth.

The 27-year-old Green then took her talents to Impact Wrestling a year later and became very popular with her “psychotic” Laurel Van Ness character and went on to capture the Impact Knockouts Championship. Green has had a tremendous start to 2018 by debuting on Season 4 of Lucha Underground on the El Rey Network and her ring work in Shimmer.

Miranda Alize

Alize has been on quite a professional journey as of late, building a resume that gives her a great advantage in the match. Miranda was trained by WWE Hall of Famer wrestler Booker T at Reality of Wrestling promotion in Houston and last year, was selected to compete in the inaugural Mae Young Classic shown on the WWE Network.

Earlier this year, Miranda toured Japan working for the popular Stardom promotions were she came up short against Toni Storm for one of their most prestigious women’s championships in the world.

Simply Luscious

There is no future without respect for those who got women’s wrestling in Texas where it is today. Graduating from Shawn Michael’s Texas Wrestling Academy in San Antonio, Simply Luscious is considered one of the queens of Texas wrestling. Luscious not only competed, but led factions in both Ring of Honor and TNA. She’s been successful in competition in both Mexico and Japan and held numerous women’s championships across the United States.

Hyan

Hyan made her debut in 2015 for her home promotion Reality of Wrestling in Houston, and ever since, she has taken many promotions in Texas and Louisiana by storm. Hyan made an appearance on WWE’s “Raw” in 2017 against current women’s champion Nia Jax.

Phoebe

The competitor with the least amount of experience in the match is Phoebe. After training at Compound Pro Wrestling in Oklahoma, she has since went on to win the Mid-South Wrestling Alliance women’s title and was one-half of the Sabotage Wrestling tag team champions in Austin.
