A Beaumont man has been arrested once again for invading the privacy of local women. Larry Mayfield Jr., 37, was arrested on June 8, when a Beaumont PD officer working security at Walmart was notified that the suspect had taken photos underneath a woman’s skirt.

On a Sunday morning 25 years ago, a human body was discovered on Huff Creek Road in Jasper County. The next morning, a local newspaper first reported that “Jasper authorities were investigating the death of a man in Jasper.” It was a short news story that wasn’t even printed on the front page.

A Beaumont public charter school will soon double its potential for enrollment with the addition of a new middle and high school in the west end of the city. More than 50 people attended a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Harmony Science Academy campus on May 26.
