Tyler Shane Lisenby

Sunday, Oct. 15, around 2 a.m. Beaumont Police Officers along with Beaumont EMS responded to a traffic accident at the intersection of Fourth Street and Bowie involving a black Honda Civic and a motorcycle. The motorcycle rider, identified as Tyler Shane Lisenby, 20, from Orange, was dead at the scene.

The Beaumont Traffic Unit was called out to investigate the scene. It appears that the motorcycle was traveling northbound on Fourth Street when the Honda Civic collided with the motorcycle, causing the rider to lose control.

An employee of the Beaumont Federal Correctional Center complex was arrested after police discovered a video that they say shows him sexually assaulting a child.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public’s assistance in investigating a vehicle that may be used to impersonate police.

Attoyac Bayou

A Texas Watershed Steward workshop on water quality related to the Attoyac Bayou watershed will be from 1-5 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Nacogdoches County Exposition and Civic Center, 3805 N.W. Stallings Drive, Nacogdoches.

The free workshop is presented by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board in cooperation with the Texas Water Resources Institute, or TWRI. It is open to anyone interested in improving water quality in the region. Participants are encouraged to preregister at the Texas Watershed Steward website,

Jeff Branick, Pet Gerson and Gerald Eddins

Judge Alfred S. Gerson’s family and friends remember him for his timeliness, among other achievements.

“That clock was his best friend, so I’ll keep an eye on it because I don’t want to be moved to the bottom of the docket call,” his grandson Reagan Rothenberger said during Gerson’s portrait unveiling ceremony Oct. 10.

The friends and family gathered in the courtroom laughed.
