A 27-year-old bomb-maker arrested in February with suspected explosive devices and all the ingredients to make more pleaded guilty Aug. 21 to federal violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney Joseph D. Brown.

Beaumont Police Department is looking for three suspects in a robbery of an Exxpress mart located at 4095 in the morning of Thursday, Aug. 23.

Interstate 10 in Jefferson County proved to be a dangerous place, with three separate accidents involving 18-wheelers, with one including a fatality, occurring Tuesday, Aug. 21. 

The Texas Department of Public Safety reported the three separate incidents with all three causing road closures. The first two incidents happened in opposite sides of traffic near Gator Country and occurred within roughly an hour of each other.

Rather than face life in prison at the hands of a jury, six men charged with participating in a massive Beaumont-based drug trafficking conspiracy pleaded guilty on Aug. 14 before U.S. Magistrate Judge Keith Giblin. Four other co-defendants have already pleaded guilty to their roles in the conspiracy. One material witness was not charged, and records to their identity are sealed.

A 45-year-old Beaumont, Texas man has been found guilty of child pornography violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney Joseph D. Brown today. 

Willie Lampley was found guilty of receipt of child pornography and possession of child pornography today by a jury following a two-day trial before U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone.
