Although Port Arthur “traffic-policing juggernaut” Rickey Antoine is famous for being the kind of hard-hitting lawman that even wrote his own mother a speeding ticket, according to allegations that sparked an investigation currently underway, he is also the kind of officer that would set aside those tickets if the price – or shoe size – is right.

Police and SWAT team officers in Port Arthur peacefully negotiated a hostage situation at a residence there May 18 and arrested one man, reports the Port Arthur Police Department (PAPD).

According to a statement from spokesperson LaRisa Carpenter, officers conducting a burglary investigation identified, detained and arrested a suspect, 38-year-old Christopher James Simpson. Officers reportedly witnessed the suspect carrying a television into the residence at 2426 11th St. and secured the perimeter of the property.

Police in Vidor arrested a woman May 12 for possession of a controlled substance after reportedly finding three liquid-filled syringes believed to contain methamphetmine, a tablet of suspected ecstasy and other drugs during a traffic stop, according to Vidor Police Department Officer Matthew Custer.
