Eric McGowen, wanted for fleeing from his trial in Liberty County on charges of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl, has been arrested by a team of law enforcement officers led by the U.S. Marshals in Houston, according to a press release from the agency.

Lumberton is getting a state-of-the-art emergency room with a touch of small-town care.

According to an Altus press release, the company will break ground Sept. 25 and begin building the 10,000 square-foot complex, which will include a trauma room, eight treatment rooms, lab services, a triage unit, radiology suite, pharmacy and year-round emergency room services.

With heavy hearts, much of Beaumont’s fire, EMS and police community gathered Sept. 11, 2012, to commemorate those first responders who lost their lives in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
