Beaumont Police Detectives have worked extensively on a case involving an elderly female that was assaulted, causing serious injuries. Beaumont Police arrested Walter Wilson, 39, from Beaumont, Sgt. Cody Guedry said in a release.

On May 4, at about 12:47 a.m., a Beaumont police officer was on patrol in the 4100 block of Congress Avenue when the officer was flagged down by a citizen, who indicated that a theft had just occurred, Officer Haley Morrow said in a release.

On May 2, Corey Wayne Stone, 35, was arrested in possession of over 50 grams of suspected crystal meth and a loaded .32 caliber handgun, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Capt. Crystal Holmes said in a release.

Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Deputy Marcus McLellan reports deputies in the department are investigating an apparent self-inflicted shooting that occurred May 4.

According to McLellan, JCSO responded to a call of a self-inflicted gunshot at 3410 North Twin City Hwy. in Nederland. Upon arrival, deputies found a male subject on the floor of the residence with what appeared to be a single gunshot wound. The male subject was transported by Acadian EMS to St. Elizabeth hospital in Beaumont where he remains in critical condition.
