Valero donation check for United Way

Valero Port Arthur refinery employees went above and beyond this holiday season to gather a hefty donation for the United Way of Mid and South Jefferson County. Through employee pledges, fundraisers and funds matched by the company, a check for $752,169 was presented to United Way on Tuesday, Dec. 1, during a banquet at the refinery’s administration building.

IEA – Inspire, Encourage, Achieve, which provides educational and rehabilitative services for Jefferson County at-risk youth by inspiring and encouraging them to achieve, hosted its annual Ben’s Kids Thanksgiving Gathering at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Beaumont. Family members and community supporters filled the Fellowship Hall for a joyful evening marked by warm hearts and expressions of gratitude.
