Mural at Atria Collier Park honoring veterans

When Engage Life Director Cheri Courts came to work for Atria Collier Park three years ago and saw the wall honoring veterans, she immediately wanted to paint a mural for these men and women that put their lives on the line to make sure we could keep our freedom. 

Atria Collier Park is an assisted living community in Beaumont.

“To me this was how we as a community could honor and say ‘thank you’ to all of our veterans,” said Courts, who has an extensive background in art.

The Beaumont Police Department is mourning the loss of a four-legged "brother in blue" as K-9 Nicky died over the weekend, Sgt. Cody Guedry reports.

Nicky "passed away quietly at his home" in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 26, Guedry stated in a news release.

The city of Beaumont is taking measures to resolve an issue that has caused many of its residents difficulty and discomfort. The city is replacing a water valve meant to provide relief to residents who have recently experienced a loss of water at their homes and those who have been under a boil notice since June 22.
