To celebrate Shakespeare’s birthday, the Theodore Johns Library invites the community to “meet one of Shakespeare’s closest friends, John Heminges,” according to the event announcement.

Neil and Mary Early, who are from Beaumont, will be performing a historical reenactment at the Johns Library on April 18 at 6:30 p.m. as part of their storytelling team “Stories and More,” which performs puppet shows, music, and stories and characters from classic literature, history and the Bible.

Police report that a woman suspected of robbing Capital One Bank in Orange on May 20, 2016, is in custody after allegedly robbing another bank in Louisiana, according to a news release from the Orange Police Department. 

Captain Robery Enmon reports that a lone white female suspect robbed the Orange bank, located at 3738 N. 16th St., in 2016. OPD and the FBI conducted an investigation, but no suspect was identified at that time.

Effective March 22 at 8:00 a.m., McFaddin Avenue from 3rd Street to 7th Street will be closed until 5:00 pm today, City of Beaumont spokesperson Rosanna Mojica announced.

This closure is to allow for street rehabilitation, according to the release.

On March 21, about 8:30 p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS) responded to a one vehicle crash on FM 421 in Hardin County, which occurred about four miles west of Lumberton, TxDPS Sgt. Stephanie Davis reported.

The Port Arthur Police Department announced that effective March 21 Sgt. Kris Boneau is no longer on administrative leave and is returning to work at the department. 

"No disciplinary action has been taken against Boneau, and he is being reinstated with the PAPD as a result of PAPD's internal administrative investigation," Port Arthur spokesperson LaRisa Carpenter stated in a news release.
