Rumors rose almost faster than floodwaters during the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.

Locals reshared social media posts claiming that flesh eating bacteria was lurking in floodwaters, animals lost during the storm were being euthanized at Ford Park, and FEMA was requiring that homeowners place signs on debris removed from flooded homes forbidding its removal until the debris was documented.

CSI Aviation of Albuquerque, New Mexico, sent a Seeker Aircraft, Seeker SB7L-360, to Southeast Texas to capture imagery of flood-impacted areas following Hurricane Harvey for local agencies. The CSI team assisted Orange County by providing high-definition images showing potentially problematic developments in the community.

CSI Aviation Business Development Manager Chris Bieber was at the Orange County Airport and Emergency Operation Center (EOC) Sept. 12 while a two-man crew surveyed the surrounding landscape.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, Southeast Texas law enforcers are being called out to keep the peace as tempers flare and domestic disturbances erupt due to abnormal living arrangements and high emotions resulting from the storm’s disastrous flooding, and a higher than average number of area folks are being committed to mental health facilities, likely due to stressful conditions, according to officers.
