The High Street Gallery, located inside the Victoria House, 2110 Victoria St. in Beaumont, will feature the work of John Fulbright on Friday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m.

Admission is free and prices begin at around $40 for Fulbright’s works, which are created by utilizing pyrography, the art of decorating wood or other materials with burn marks resulting from the controlled application of heat.

Take a drive down Calder toward downtown Beaumont and you might catch a glimpse of him. He’ll be gliding in and out of road reflectors in an empty lane of traffic, arms out as if he were flying, headphones on and wearing a constant smile.

Tom Campbell has rollerbladed the streets of Beaumont for the last 20 years, and the 65-year-old says he’s got at least another 10 years of cruising the streets on his K-2 inline skates.
