Continuing its ongoing investigation into allegations of wrongdoing related to a $388.6 million bond initiative passed by voters in 2007, two agents with the FBI and a prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice for the Eastern District of Texas were at the Beaumont Independent School District administration building this week to retrieve a computer for FBI analysis, The Examiner has confirmed. Additionally, several staff members have been questioned by federal authorities.

The fate of Dwyndell Perrault is resting with the jury after two days of testimony concluded around 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9.

Perrault was charged with the August 2010 shooting of 12-year-old Ivan Perez, who was a passenger of a vehicle Perrault shot at in what police described as a case of extreme road rage.

The 12-member jury was selected Monday, and prosecution called a number of witnesses Tuesday and Wednesday. Prosecution showed jurors what was reported the night of Aug. 10.

A number of local law enforcement agencies are currently assisting the Federal Bureau of Investigations in the execution of search warrants of Calvin Walker of Walker's Electric located in Beaumont.

The Examiner first broke the news of the FBI's investigation into Walker over a year ago.
