Vidor City Manager Mike Kunst and Vidor Police Chief Rod Carroll invite the public to join them from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. for coffee at Whataburger on Main Street in Vidor Aug. 4. According to Kunst, the pair will be meeting at the fast food establishment "semi-regularly," so, "If you can't make this one, perhaps we will see you next time."

At least one person was taken to a local hospital for treatment following a morning accident in Vidor Aug. 2 involving a pickup truck and a Little Debbie delivery truck. Vidor police directed traffic around the accident at Highway 12 and Tram Road, near the Interstate 10 West on-ramp. The fire department and Acadian ambulance also responded to the scene of the accident.

Vidor Mayor Robert Viator

Vidor Mayor Robert Viator has revealed he is running for Pct. 4 Commissioner in Orange County in 2018 against incumbent Jody Crump, who has already announced his candidacy. 

Viator said it is "time for change," and expressed concern that the current Commissioners Court is not accurately representing the citizens of Vidor and the surrounding area.

The Little Cypress Junior High School cheerleaders and mascots attended the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) camp, July 18 through July 21, at Moody Gardens in Galveston, LCM CISD spokesperson Sherry Combs said in a release.

July 29 at 8:48 p.m., deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 200 block of Jerry Drive in Nederland in reference to a reported aggravated robbery in which two Hispanic males stole the victim’s pickup truck at gunpoint, Deputy Marcus McLellan said in a release.

Deputies spotted a truck matching the description traveling on Spurlock Road. Deputies confirmed this was the stolen truck and attempted to stop the vehicle. The driver of the truck refused to stop and led deputies on a short pursuit on Highway 69 before exiting FM 365.
