In a letter to all Beaumont Independent School District staff, Superintendent Timothy Chargois said the district now anticipates that all employees affected by the coming reduction in force will be notified no later than June 30, rather than the June 12 date given previously.

As the Beaumont Independent School District continues to lavish taxpayer dollars on friends, family, family friends, and a horde of high-priced attorneys, those who do the work of the school district are facing the unemployment line due to what BISD Superintendent Timothy Chargois calls “financial exigency.”

Officials with the City of Beaumont are moving quickly to curb a massive, seemingly unforeseen increase in the city’s healthcare spending.

According to Chief Financial Officer Laura Clark, this year’s city healthcare spending jumped some $3 million since last year.
