Tyllher Moore and Terry Warren

Sunday, Jan. 21, at 8:26 am, Beaumont police officers observed a 2004 Cadillac Escalade make traffic violations in the 3200 block of Laurel Street. Officers stopped the vehicle in the area of Calder and IH-10. The driver, Tyllher Moore, a 31-year-old Beaumont man, and the passenger, Terry Warren, a 33-year-old Port Arthur man, were in the vehicle and in possession of over 30 grams of suspected methamphetamine and a small amount of marijuana.

Both males were transported to Jefferson County Correctional Facility.

Earth’s average global temperature from 2013 to 2017

Continuing the planet's long-term warming trend, globally averaged temperatures in 2017 were 1.62 degrees Fahrenheit (0.90 degrees Celsius) warmer than the 1951 to 1980 mean, according to scientists at NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) in New York. That is second only to global temperatures in 2016.

At about 5:15 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19, deputies from the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office were notified of an aggravated robbery and car jacking in Texas City. A white Kia Soul was taken during the commission of this offense, and deputies immediately set up to watch for the vehicle. Soon thereafter, a sheriff’s office sergeant observed a vehicle matching the description traveling north on State Highway 3 in Dickinson. He pulled in behind the vehicle and verified the license plate as the stolen vehicle.

Jefferson County Sheriff's Office (JCSO) Deputies investigating a report of a suspicious vehicle arrested three suspects on fraud/identity theft charges after discovering what appeared to be mail stolen from Beaumont, Lumberton and Silsbee, along with a gun and other apparently stolen items from area burglaries, reports Capt. Crystal Holmes.

This morning, the Houston Zoo humanely euthanized its male, 20-year-old jaguar, Kan Balam.  Due to the tremendous care provided to him by his keepers and the Houston Zoo veterinary team, Kan Balam lived well beyond his expected lifespan. Jaguars expected lifespan in the wild is between 12-15 years.
