Christmas tree drop-off will be available at Magnolia, Rogers, and Sprott Parks through Jan. 12, the City of Beaumont announced Dec. 28.

In Rogers Park, the drop-off area is in the parking lot facing Dowlen Road, indicated by posted signs.

As Southeast Texans continue to rebuild their lives and their homes four months after Hurricane Harvey’s destructive flooding, some homeowners are struggling to get local contractors who didn’t keep their promises to give them their money back.


The City of Port Arthur and nine industrial and/or refining facilities have made and entered into Industrial District Agreements (IDA) effective Jan. 1, 2018 through Dec. 30, 2027, City of Port Arthur spokesperson LaRisa Carpenter said in a release Jan. 2.

The reward for Frankie Lee Bell Jr., 29, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive and this month’s featured fugitive, has been increased to $12,500 for information leading to his capture if the tip comes in during the month of January.

Bell, affiliated with the Bloods gang, is wanted for murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. All tips are guaranteed to be anonymous.

Bell has ties to Caldwell (his last known address) and Somerville in Burleson County, as well as Bryan and Houston.
