Police in Pinehurst are cracking down on methamphetamine dealers in an ongoing effort to eradicate the dangerous drug from the city, Pinehurst Police Chief Fred Hanauer revealed in press releases. 

According to Hanauer, the department, along with Constable Pct. 2 David Cagle, have been investigating methamphetamine distribution in the area for some time.

A man wanted on a felony warrant in Harris County was arrested in Beaumont March 23 after officers caught up with the suspect as he fled from them during a traffic stop.

Highway 12 between Texas and Louisiana has been reopened after severe floods that caused major traffic disruptions have subsided, Texas Department of Transportation spokesperson Sarah Dupre said in a news release.

Receding floodwaters have allowed Lamar State College – Orange personnel to do a preliminary assessment of damage to the campus.  Both the Wilson Building and the Green Avenue Building were flooded.  Water reached a depth of 10 inches in the Green Avenue Building and 3 inches in the Wilson Building. Both buildings will need drywall repair and flooring replacement.
