Voters in Jefferson County turned out prior to Early Voting with rallies held throughout the region for candidates vying for offices in hotly contested elections that culminate Nov. 8.

During a meeting Nov. 3, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission will consider granting an easement of approximately 30 acres for installation of six 24-inch pipelines across a portion of the J.D. Murphree Wildlife Management Area in Jefferson County for use by GT Logistics.

“This couldn’t have come at a better time,” Triangle Area Network (TAN) executive director Dena Hughes said of receiving restitution in the amount of $312,306.31 from former executive director Peggy Gibson, who admitted to stealing the funds from the nonprofit while she headed the organization. “This is such a blessing.”
