Former Central High School principal turned Beaumont Independent School District assistant superintendent Patricia Adams Collins Lambert was indicted on Wednesday, Feb. 4, for allegedly embezzling an estimated $750,000 from the district's students while she headed the high school campus.

A 23-year-old Houston man has been sentenced to federal prison for robbing a bank in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John Malcolm Bales on Feb. 4.  

According to a news release, Christopher M. Carmon Thomas pleaded guilty on July 29, 2014 to bank robbery and was sentenced to 37 months in federal prison Feb. 4 by U.S. District Judge Thad Heartfield. Thomas was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $2,309.00.

A possible love triangle reportedly led to a stabbing that resulted in injury to a 19-year-old Beaumont man.

According to a news release from the Beaumont Police Department, the young victim was stabbed after arguing with another man over a female. BPD reports that at about 9:08 on January 30, patrol officers responded to the Regent I Apartment in the 1700 block of Regent in reference to a man with a knife.  When officers arrived, they found a 19-year-old Beaumont man suffering from a stab wound.
