McAlister’s Deli in Beaumont will be celebrating their reopening on Friday, Nov. 9 by giving away $50 gift cards to the first 50 people in line. The reopening comes after the restaurant underwent a renovation starting Oct. 31 and lasted till Nov. 8. A 28-year-old Port Arthur man was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital after being shot on Saturday, Nov. 4 in the 4100 block of 32ndStreet. According to a press release from Port Arthur Police Department, the victim is on critical condition. Port Arthur Police are investigating the shooting.

Gerald Wade Tomlinson

The suspect in two shootings, 71-year-old Gerald Wade Tomlinson from Saratoga, has been charged with murder and aggravated assault after Hardin County Sherriff’s Office investigated the shootings that happened on Friday Nov. 2 in and near the 13000 block of Tomlinson Road. According to press releases form Hardin County Sherriff’s Office, at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2 deputies responded to the 13000 block of Tomlinson Road and discovered the deceased body of a 37-year-old white male, later identified as Charlie Wayne Daniel Jr, who apparently died from a gunshot wound.
