State solicits savings tips

Texans are asked to submit cost containment comments by Nov. 1 in an effort to achieve $350 million in savings at the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) pursuant to the 87th Legislature-mandated cost containment rider in the General Appropriations Act for the 2022-2023 fiscal year.

A female drowned in a pool at a home in Orange on Oct. 3, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO). Public Information Officer Holly Corley reported that, at approximately 12:45 p.m.

Google shuts down school district's website

A Southeast Texas school district’s website was removed by Google after it was reported as being “offensive.” On Sept. 20 at about 9 a.m., Evadale ISD officials posted on their Facebook page that their website, www.evadalek12.
