UPDATE: Shanna Peek Tidwell pleaded guilty on Dec. 6, 2016, to conspiracy to commit offenses against the United States and was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison on April 18 by U.S. District Judge Ron Clark.

Assets to be forfeited by the defendant included U.S. currency and bank accounts totaling over $1.2 million, real property, precious metals, two airplanes, six automobiles, other vehicles, and firearms.

I-10 westbound near FM 1132 in Vidor is still closed at this time due to a truck fire earlier today, TxDOT Sarah Dupre said in a release.

Dupre reports that traffic is backed up and asks motorists to please use an alternate route.

A female Masai giraffe was born at 9:04 a.m. on Monday, April 10, in the McGovern Giraffe Barn at the Houston Zoo after a two-hour labor. And after a few days alone with her mother, Tyra, the yet-to-be-named calf made her public debut on Good Friday, April 14.

While working a criminal interdiction assignment, on April 10 at about 12:30 a.m., Pinehurst Police Officer Kevin Norton reportedly arrested a 33-year-old woman for traffic offenses, and discovered drug parapehernalia and what appeared to be methamphetamine in her possession, reports Chief Fred Hanauer.
