On the lam for nearly two weeks, a family in Silsbee is seeking the return of lost pet, “Georgie” the kinkajou, commonly called a “honey bear.” According to a public request asking for assistance in locating the missing Georgie, the kinkajou is a family pet that escaped his enclosure.

BPD apprehends heroin handler

Beaumont police reportedly arrested a 43-year-old resident with 800 grams of heroin in his possession. According to a news release from the Beaumont Police Department (BPD), on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 5:13 p.m., officers were patrolling the area of Lucas Drive and Concord Road in Beaumont.

Local teens arrested for assault, auto theft

An assemblage of law enforcement agencies collaborated to arrest five Jefferson County teenagers allegedly responsible for an aggravated robbery and car theft that occurred in a Seguin Walmart parking lot Sept. 5.

Hike and bike harasser arrested

Beaumont police reportedly arrested a 37-year-old man at the Gulf Terrace Hike and Bike Trail after he allegedly tried to kidnap a woman. On Sunday, Sept. 11, at about 9:15 a.m.

SPD: Three arrested on felony charges

Three people were arrested on felony charges by the Silsbee Police Department. According to the SPD arrest report, Richard Lynn Bishop III, 24, was arrested Sept. 8 for evading arrest with vehicle — a third-degree felony. He also had a warrant out from another agency. Sept.
