Arbitrator orders OPD to rehire Robert Arnold

An arbitrator has ruled that, despite the fact former Orange Police Department Capt. Robert Arnold shot and killed James Whitehead at point blank range in the parking of the O'Reilly Auto Parts store on 16th Street in Orange last year, he must be returned to the police force because the city violated Arnold's due process rights.

BISD Police Officer indicted

The Jefferson County Grand Jury has indicted Beaumont Independent School District Police Officer Michael Trahan for allegedly committing the offense of aggravated sexual assault of a female.

The incident is said to have occurred on April 15, 2011, following his work at an extra job. The indictment states Trahan coerced the alleged victim into performing oral sex on him using his authority as a peace officer.
