CBL & Associates Properties, Inc. announced that their portfolio of market-dominant regional shopping centers will open at 6 a.m. on Black Friday, November 25, and will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. Parkdale Mall in Beaumont is owned by the company and will be included in the Thanksgiving Day closing.

Over a thousand bikers attended the Lace, Grace and Gears rally on Crockett Street the first weekend in October. The rally started on Friday, Sept. 30, and opened at 8 a.m. Their goal was to beat the world record for most women riders on motorcycles at one time, currently held by an Australian group of 1,002 riders.

Lace, Grace and Gears posted on its Facebook page Oct. 3 that the final count of 806 women and 62 bikes “was an amazing feat” and “watch out 2017!”

WASHINGTON – The Department of Justice, U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Texas and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced Oct. 12 that four Texas companies pleaded guilty and agreed to pay a total of $3.5 million dollars for criminal violations of the Clean Air Act at two oil and chemical processing facilities in Texas.

On the eve of a deadline to give word to current Ford Park Entertainment Complex management company SMG as to Jefferson County’s intent to either keep the management team they’ve been with for 15 years or sign with a competitor, Jefferson County Commissioner Everett “Bo” Alfred reported that not only have both companies been informed of the county’s decision, but a tentative contract from new management provider Spectra was in the hands of Purchasing Director Deborah Clark as of Wednesday, Oct. 12.

Jefferson County Criminal District Attorney Bob Wortham announced Oct. 5 that a grand jury has returned a no bill in the matter of the in-custody death of Manuel Delacruz, 26, of Port Arthur on Aug. 1.
