A crudely written message scrawled on the bathroom wall at Tekoa Academy drew a response from the Port Arthur Police Department, including evacuation of the school at 326 Thomas Blvd. in Port Arthur, but in the end it was just an early release for  Tekoa students.

Two men are in the Jefferson County jail after a pair of robberies in Beaumont’s Oaks Historic District and the North End.

On April 15, police say Raphiel D. Boyd, 19, of Beaumont, robbed a 43-year-old man about 7:30 p.m. in the 2200 block of Angelina in the Oaks Historic District. Brandishing a handgun, BPD Detective Jesus Tamayo said Boyd was after electronics.

Two motorists were hospitalized Friday, April 19 about 10 a.m. after a motorcycle/passenger vehicle collision at the intersection of Liberty and MLK Parkway in Beaumont.
