The Jefferson County Deputy Sheriff’s Association distributed donations to the Project Graduation Programs of all public high schools in Jefferson County on Friday, May 29.

Deputies with the Orange County Sheriff's Office located a golf cart on May 29 that had been stolen from Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School during a burglary on May 24, reports OCSO.

According to a news release, the office received information regarding the whereabouts of the missing golf cart. Deputies found the cart at the reported location and retunred the vehicle to the high school today.

Texas and Oklahoma are feeling the devastating effects of weeks of heavy rain, tornadoes and flooding, and the American Red Cross is there, helping people in the Lone Star State get back on their feet.

The storms have impacted about 35 percent of the state, destroying or damaging thousands of homes. The Red Cross is providing shelter, food, water, relief supplies, health services and emotional support to people in need.

A fire has been contained at Fletcher Elementary School after starting from what appears to have been an overheated extension cord.

On Thursday May 28, at 12:30 p.m., the Orange Police Department, Orange Fire Department, and Acadian EMS responded to the report of a boating accident on Adams Bayou in Orange, where emergency officials found that the two boats involved in the accident had made their way to a boat launch know as Lottie’s Landing, located off of DuPont Drive in an area of Orange known as "The Cove."
