Top 10 wanted sex offender arrested in Galveston

Feb. 10, Joe Hernandez, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender, was taken into custody by the Galveston Police Department after turning himself in. In 1998, Hernandez was convicted of three counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child following incidents involving 2-year-old and 7-year-old girls.

Dollar General delinquent convicted

A Beaumont man was convicted of federal firearms violations in the Eastern District of Texas Feb. 14, announced U.S. Attorney Brit Featherston. Kenderious DaShawn Coleman, 20, pleaded guilty to Hobbs Act robbery and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence before U.S.

Meritorious musicians

Beaumont United and West Brook high schools choir students participated in the Regional UIL Solo and Ensemble Competition. Thirty-six students earned a gold medal on their solo and qualified for the state contest.
