1676 Pauline

At approximately 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2015, Beaumont Fire Rescue units responded to a structure fire at 1676 Pauline. When firefighters arrived, they found flames visible in one room of the home. Firefighters were able to make a quick attack and contain the fire to the front portion of the house. No one was home when firefighters arrived, and there were no injuries to firefighters. The cause of the fire has been determined to be deliberate, and a suspect has been identified. The investigation is continuing at this time.

The Jefferson County Courthouse jury impaneling room was full of excitement Friday, May 1, as the Jefferson County Bar Association along with the Jefferson County Young Lawyers Association celebrated the achievements of local attorneys, students and a few others at the Law Day Annual Meeting.

In 1958, President Dwight D. Eisenhower designated May 1 as Law Day, which is meant to celebrate and strengthen the American heritage of liberty, justice and equality. It’s a day of national dedication to the principle of government under law.
