Many Orange residents attended the City Council meeting Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the Orange Public Library to speak out regarding the potential construction of a Confederate flag at MLK Drive and Interstate 10 in Orange.

After 25 years of service to the Catholic Church and more than 12 years as bishop of Beaumont, the diocese celebrated the anniversary of the Episcopal ordination of Bishop Curtis Guillory on Sunday, Feb. 10, at the 4 p.m. mass at St. Anthony Cathedral and also held a reception that evening at the Beaumont Civic Center.

UPDATE: Just weeks after getting a spot on the heart transplant list, Todd Methvin has died. He passed away on Valentine's Day 2013. Visitation was Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Broussard's Mortuary in Beaumont.

The Nature Conservancy recently completed a tree planting project at the Roy E. Larsen Sandyland Sanctuary in Silsbee in collaboration with the Apache Corporation and volunteers from St. Michael’s College.
