After a year’s worth of hard work and determination, Southeast Texas has another Eagle Scout ready to take on the world.

Hunter Kilgore, 18, of Troop 85 of St. Anne’s Home School Association has completed his Eagle Scout court of honor after a board approved his project and other requirements to receive the highest honor bestowed by the Boy Scouts of America (BSA).

Pulse, Lamar University’s student-created literary magazine, has released its 60th edition. Sponsored by the Department of English and Modern Languages, the magazine contains poetry and prose by students from a variety of disciplines on campus. The magazine is funded by donations from patrons of the arts.

Lamar University’s Department of Theatre and Dance breathes new life into one of William Shakespeare’s most popular tragedies “Macbeth,” opening Feb. 28. The fast-paced thriller of witches, prophesy, murderous ambition and warfare will run in the University Theatre through March 3.
