Approximately 30 people representing a variety of organizations and interests, all united in their opposition to a proposed 105 Toll Road, met in Beaumont on Sept. 14 to discuss the current status of the project and form a plan of action to block the road’s construction.

“We all deal with cancer one way or another,” said Beaumont attorney Glen Morgan when asked why he thought it was important for he and his wife, Teri, to help open a new cancer treatment center in Port Arthur. “In my practice, I represented thousands and thousands of people with it. This community has been so good to us that we thought this was a way for us to return something.”

On Oct. 15, 2015, Kellogg Brown & Root, Inc. (KBR) was ordered to pay a final judgment of $108,342.10 to the United States by U.S. District Judge Marcia Crone.
